Can pre-ejaculation cause pregnancy? Semen seeping from the penis prior to actual ejaculation is known as pre-ejaculation. Most men can’t even feel it, and it can’t be controlled. It does contain sperm and therefore can cause pregnancy. This is one reason why the withdrawal method is not as effective as other forms of birth control.

Can faux sex or dry sex cause pregnancy? Skin-on-skin contact in the genital area with no penetration is known as faux sex or dry sex. Any form of unprotected genital contact can cause pregnancy, as well as transmit STD’s.
If penetration happens only briefly, is there still a chance of pregnancy? There is a chance of pregnancy anytime there is direct contact between the penis and vaginal area, no matter how brief. There is also a risk of transmitting STD’s. The risk for pregnancy and STD’s might not be as great as if full-blown intercourse and ejaculation occur, but the chance still exists.
Can pregnancy still result from intercourse in which a woman does not reach orgasm? Pregnancy can occur whether or not a woman reaches orgasm. Orgasm has no bearing on the presence of an egg.
Can sperm travel through material, such as clothing? There is a minute chance of sperm entering the vagina if the material in question is completely saturated with semen and comes into direct contact with it. However, this is highly unlikely. There are no conclusive studies providing a definite answer to this question.
Can anal sex result in pregnancy? Anal sex cannot result in pregnancy. However, because the anus and vaginal opening are very close to each other, there is a chance of sperm leaking into the vagina.
Can pregnancy result from having sex in water? It is definitely possible to get pregnant from intercourse occurring in water. Intercourse and ejaculation directly deposits sperm into the vaginal area as it normally would. Water outside the body will not affect or change this.
Can pregnancy result from ejaculation in water? It is unlikely that sperm could travel through the volume of water it takes to fill a pool, bathtub or hot tub to enter the vagina and fertilize an egg. Sperm can survive for a few minutes if ejaculation occurs in plain, warm water. Sperm cannot survive for more than a few seconds if ejaculation occurs in very hot water, or water containing pool chemicals, bubbles or other substances. It is highly unlikely, if possible at all, for pregnancy to result from this.
Can repeated ejaculation reduce the chance of pregnancy? The chance for pregnancy is not reduced by the number of times ejaculation occurs. Only one is necessary for fertilization, and each ejaculation releases about 300 million of them.
Does sperm die when it comes in contact with air? Can oxygen kill it? No; this popular myth is untrue. Sperm is dead once it is dry, and therefore cannot travel to an egg. It can live for 3 to 5 days in a warm, moist environment, such as the cervix. It cannot, however, come back to life once it has dried up. Not even remoistening it can rejuvenate it.
